The Daft Punk Experience Launches in Fortnite This Saturday
Defunct dance duo Daft Punk will return to the spotlight in Fortnite this month with a new interactive tribute experience.
The Daft Punk Experience will open its digital doors this Saturday, September 27 at 11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern, or 7pm UK time — but it won’t be your typical Fortnite concert.
Instead, built around the fact that Daft Punk no longer performs live, the experience offers a creative playground where you can remix classic tracks, produce a Lego Music-style music video, or simply jump in to dance.
No new music will be introduced during the event, confirms Fortnite developer Epic Games. To clear up any confusion, here’s a direct quote from the event’s FAQ page:
"Is Daft Punk getting back together? No. The Daft Punk Experience is an immersive music experience based on the band's beloved music. The band is not getting back together."
As always, Fortnite will release a range of exclusive in-game items to coincide with the collaboration. Players can purchase the GM08 and TB3 skins, instruments for use in Fortnite’s Festival music mode, and tracks like Get Lucky.
Earlier today, we also reported on the launch of another new Fortnite mode: Delulu, a proximity chat-focused battle royale. So far, it’s off to a strong start, though it has triggered a wave of bans affecting "thousands" of accounts.
