Stardew Valley: A Comprehensive Guide to Crystalariums
Stardew Valley offers more than just farming; players strive for profit, and gemstones are valuable assets beyond their aesthetic appeal. They're used in crafting and make excellent gifts. However, mining for rare gemstones can be time-consuming. This is where the Crystalarium shines, allowing players to multiply gemstones and minerals. This guide covers obtaining and utilizing Crystalariums, updated for the latest game version (1.6).
Obtaining a Crystalarium

To craft a Crystalarium, players need level 9 Mining skill. The required materials are:
- 99 Stone: Easily obtained by breaking rocks.
- 5 Gold Bars: Smelt Gold Ore (found at mine levels 80 and below) using a Furnace and Coal.
- 2 Iridium Bars: Mine Iridium in Skull Cavern or obtain it daily from the Statue of Perfection. Smelt Iridium Ore using a Furnace and Coal.
- 1 Battery Pack: Obtained by placing a Lightning Rod outside during a thunderstorm.
Alternative Acquisition Methods:
- Community Center Bundle: Complete the 25,000g bundle in the Vault.
- Museum Donation: Donate at least 50 minerals (gemstones or geodes) to the Museum.
Using the Crystalarium

Place the Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular location for multiple Crystalariums.
The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds have the longest (5 days) but highest value.
To relocate a Crystalarium, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. If active, the current gem will drop. To change the gem type, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gem. The old gem will be ejected, and the new one will begin replicating.
Maximize your profits and enhance your relationships in Pelican Town by strategically using Crystalariums to cultivate valuable gemstones.
