Avowed: A Complex World with Far-Reaching Choices

Political Intrigue and Meaningful Choices in The Living Lands

In an interview with Game Developer, Patel highlighted Avowed's focus on player agency. Every decision, no matter how small, contributes to a unique and personalized journey. The game encourages players to reflect on their choices and how they shape their character's path. "It's about giving the player moment-to-moment opportunities to express and explore where they're leaning," Patel explained.

The choices players make will significantly impact their experience, particularly within the political landscape of The Living Lands. The narrative unfolds based on the information discovered during exploration, creating a dynamic and responsive world. "Giving players things to dig into—that's what makes it meaningful roleplay," Patel stated.

Avowed's Deep RPG Mechanics and Strategic CombatPlayers assume the role of an Aedyran Empire envoy investigating a spiritual plague, simultaneously pursuing their own political ambitions. The game seamlessly blends strategic combat using magic, swords, and guns, offering diverse gameplay experiences with varying ability combinations and weapon loadouts.

Patel confirmed to IGN that Avowed boasts a multitude of endings, resulting from numerous choice combinations throughout the game. "I can tell you our ending slides number in the double digits, and you can end up with a lot of different combinations of them," she revealed. The final outcome truly reflects the cumulative impact of every decision made during the adventure.
