In *BlazBlue Entropy Effect*, unlocking new characters is an intriguing process that involves collecting special items known as Prototype Analyzers. These are essential for unlocking all characters, except for the paid DLC ones. Our comprehensive *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* character unlock guide will walk you through obtaining Prototype Analyzers and provide a detailed rundown of every playable character.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect: How To Unlock Characters
You'll receive your first Prototype Analyzer upon completing the tutorial, which also gives you a gentle nudge on how to proceed. After exiting the Acer Program room via the passage on your right, you'll find yourself in a room with a glowing platform. Interact with this platform to access the character selection menu, where you can choose your desired character.
For subsequent characters, return to this room and interact with the platform using additional Prototype Analyzers. Note that DLC characters, such as Rachel and Hazama (available as of March 2025), are automatically unlocked upon purchasing and installing their respective character packs.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect: How To Get More Prototype Analyzers
*Entropy Effect* offers a few methods to acquire more Prototype Analyzers, though they require patience and effort.
Progress the story: As you advance through *BlazBlue Entropy Effect*'s storyline and complete training missions, you'll unlock gray skills. Reaching specific milestones will earn you Prototype Analyzers:
- Unlocking 10 gray skills
- Unlocking 20 gray skills
- Unlocking 40 gray skills
Additionally, without giving away any spoilers, you'll receive one after completing a crucial event later in the story. Unlocking green skills via Potential, however, does not provide Prototype Analyzers. Unless developer 91Act introduces new skills or other methods through story quests, you're limited to earning three.
Complete Mind Challenges and spend AP: Another avenue involves accumulating points from the Mind Challenge mode. You can trade these points, known as AP, with the janitor for Prototype Analyzers. Each one costs 5,000 AP, so it's not a frequent transaction.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect: All Characters
As of March 2025, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* features 12 characters—10 in the base game and 2 as paid DLC. Below, you'll find descriptions of each character, excluding the DLC ones, which are unlocked using Prototype Analyzers.
Ragna the Bloodedge
Ragna is your go-to melee fighter with a unique twist. He thrives in close-range combat but gains power as his HP decreases. Ragna's standout feature is his ability to sacrifice health for buffs, then regain some of it by draining his opponents.
Jin Kisaragi
Another melee fighter, Jin specializes in sophisticated swordplay and ice-based skills. He can freeze enemies, and with precise combo timing, he boosts his strength significantly and confuses foes with super speed.
Noel Vermillion
Unlike Jin and Ragna, Noel excels in ranged combat. She can unleash a barrage of missiles in any direction and has a unique ability to shorten her skill cooldowns. Additionally, Noel can continue casting skills even after her MP is depleted using Over-Exhaust.
Taokaka
Taokaka may struggle against heavily armored enemies, but her versatility in build options compensates for this. She can strike multiple times and apply status effects with her Spinny Spinny attack, making any build viable for her.
Hakumen
Hakumen embodies the tank archetype, with his slow yet powerful build perfect for enduring enemy attacks. His strong counterattacks can be executed at a reduced MP cost after successfully blocking, and he can be equipped with a midair attack to tackle any enemy type.
Lambda-11
Lambda-11 is versatile in both close and long-range combat. Her skills can inflict ongoing damage even when not directly attacking, making her a formidable presence in any battle scenario.
Kokonoe
Kokonoe may be considered one of *Entropy Effect*'s weaker characters, requiring precise management of lasers and crowd control effects. With the right damage-over-time build, however, she can still be very effective.
Hibiki Kohaku
Hibiki excels at evasion and crowd control, keeping enemies at bay. Though not the most powerful, his ability to avoid damage makes him a valuable asset in any team.
Es
Es is incredibly powerful even without unlocking potentials. She can counter after dodging, execute mid-air combos, and utilize crowd-control abilities, making her a well-rounded and effective character.
Mai Nastume
Mai has a high skill ceiling and can be challenging to master. Her effectiveness hinges on understanding her combo system, with her Heavy Attack being a standout feature. She's designed for high mobility and maximum damage through well-executed combos.
Rachel Alucard
Rachel is a powerhouse, known for her speed and ability to reset dodge moves, making her nearly untouchable. Her wide-ranging abilities can cover most of the screen and include a nearly unevadable stun move. If you have Rachel, there's little reason not to use her.
Hazama
Hazama demands strategic play due to his complex skill inputs. Simple button mashing won't suffice; mastering his moves is key. Once you overcome the steep learning curve, Hazama becomes one of the game's strongest characters.
