Beryl and Col stand out as top DPS characters, with Beryl slightly outperforming as a Destroyer-type, advantageous against all types except Watchers. Col excels as a rogue, capable of wiping out enemy teams from the side or rear, making attack and crit rate boosting gear essential for her.
Gloria and Inanna lead as the best support characters in the game. Gloria's versatility extends to DPS roles, thanks to her powerful Flag buffs, knockback capabilities, and high damage output. Inanna, on the other hand, is your go-to healer, offering longevity with her ability to summon the Guard of the Princess—a controlled tank that absorbs hits and assists in fulfilling battle objectives.
Edda, the first new character added to the global version, is a formidable support enhancing magical teams through debuffs, particularly in Weaponry Trial I for easier Legendary weapon farming. Cocoa, introduced in September 2024, is an exceptional tank with utility in heals, buffs, and debuffs, reaching her full potential at five stars but already strong at one.
Saffiyah and Auguste, known from the CN and TW versions, are considered the most powerful characters in Sword of Convallaria. Saffiyah's versatility as a Seeker, summoning minions, healing, and dealing damage while evading hits, is unparalleled. Auguste, the top Breaker DPS, excels in auto-play, making him invaluable for players like me. Both are essential pulls, enhancing any team composition.
A-Tier
Dantalion and Magnus form a synergistic duo, with strong attack buffs enhancing their effectiveness in PvE stages. Magnus serves as a crucial tank replacement for Maitha, unless you have Cocoa. Dantalion, a solid DPS, grows stronger over time, potentially turning the tide even in dire situations.
Nonowill supports with buffs and debuffs while maintaining high mobility. Simona, added in late August 2024, is a battlemage capable of freezing and slowing enemies while delivering significant damage, perfect for magic-based teams alongside Edda.
Rawiyah (Alt) and Saffiyah (Alt) are strong additions to any team. Rawiyah's utility and high damage, including AoE and self-healing, make her a valuable asset. Saffiyah (Alt), while not as dominant as her original version, excels as a debuffer, enhancing allies and dealing damage.

Maitha, a versatile tank, also offers decent damage and healing, serving well as a starter tank but likely to be replaced by stronger options like Magnus or Cocoa. Rawiyah shines early on with her focus on DPS, AoE capabilities, and self-healing, easing your progression through initial levels.

Characters in C-tier, while not the most efficient or versatile, can still be useful, particularly in the early game. Teadon, for instance, can tank effectively with high defense and frontline resilience. These units are suitable placeholders until you acquire higher-tier characters.

Crimson Falcon has been a key player in my team until I got Col. Her high damage and mobility, coupled with frequent Memory Shard drops, make her an excellent rogue to max out early.
For frontline DPS, Tempest and Stormbreaker are solid choices, especially if you're yet to pull Gloria. Darklight Ice Priest (a Rare) and Abyss are strong mage options, with the former slowing enemies with ranged ice damage and ice tiles. Butterfly, though not a traditional mage, offers utility akin to a Fire Emblem Dancer, providing minor heals and position swaps.
Suppression and Angel are the top picks for tanking and healing. If you're invested in Maitha, you might skip Suppression, but without Inanna, Angel's strong healing capabilities are indispensable to keep your team alive as you save for more pulls.
