Leaked Switch 2 Logo Hints at New Design

A leaked logo potentially reveals the Nintendo Switch 2's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next console have been swirling since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence. While a full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch later this year, the exact release date remains shrouded in secrecy.

The console's name itself has been a point of much speculation. While "Nintendo Switch 2" is the widely used placeholder, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped. However, the prevalent belief, supported by numerous leaks, is that it will indeed be a direct successor to the original Switch, maintaining a similar design.

According to Comicbook, a logo seemingly confirming the "Nintendo Switch 2" name has surfaced online. Shared on Bluesky by Universo Nintendo's Necro Felipe, the logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above the text "Nintendo Switch," with the only difference being the addition of a "2" next to the Joy-Con graphic.

Despite this, confirmation remains elusive. Some remain skeptical, pointing to Nintendo's history of unconventional naming conventions (like the Wii U). The Wii U's less-than-ideal name is often cited as a contributing factor to its underperformance, suggesting Nintendo might opt for a more straightforward approach this time.

While past leaks seem to corroborate this logo and name, gamers should treat all current rumors as unconfirmed until official confirmation. Furthermore, a recent social media post hints that the official reveal might be closer than anticipated.
