Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed
A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases improved gameplay and control systems, along with a host of exciting additions. The game retains its core loop of battling massive mechanical creatures (Abductors), harvesting materials, and upgrading gear within a bleak, dystopian world. Key updates include significantly enhanced visuals, faster-paced action, a refined crafting system, a challenging new difficulty mode, and inclusion of all original customization DLC.
Launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, Freedom Wars Remastered offers a revitalized experience. Bandai Namco's latest trailer highlights graphical enhancements, gameplay refinements, and new features that elevate the action RPG. Balance adjustments, a new difficulty setting, and various other improvements ensure a more polished and engaging adventure.
Originally conceived as a PlayStation Vita exclusive in response to Capcom's decision to bring the Monster Hunter series to Nintendo consoles, Freedom Wars shares a similar gameplay structure. Players assume the role of a "Sinner," sentenced to complete missions for their Panopticon (city-state) to atone for the crime of being born. These missions, playable solo or cooperatively online, range from rescuing citizens to eliminating Abductors and securing control systems.
Gameplay Enhancements in Freedom Wars Remastered:
The trailer demonstrates the upgraded gameplay. Visual fidelity receives a major boost, jumping from 544p to 4K (2160p) resolution on PS5 and PC, maintaining a smooth 60 FPS. PS4 players can expect 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version runs at 1080p, 30 FPS. Beyond visuals, the game boasts faster-paced combat thanks to improved mechanics, increased movement speed, and weapon attack cancellation capabilities.
Crafting and upgrading have been completely overhauled. A more intuitive interface and the ability to freely attach and detach modules streamline the process. Module synthesis, a new feature, allows players to enhance modules using resources gained from rescued citizens. Finally, a new "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all previously released customization DLC from the PS Vita version is included from the outset.
