My Father Lied A Mesopotamia-themed Point and Click Title Launches in May

by Joseph Apr 18,2025

Ahmed Alameen, a talented writer and filmmaker, is set to launch his debut point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied, on May 30th. This narrative-driven puzzler draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Mesopotamian history, promising players an immersive experience filled with intrigue and mystery.

In My Father Lied, you step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman on a quest to unravel the enigma of her father's disappearance. Two decades after her father vanished without a trace, Huda embarks on her investigation upon the startling revelation of a hidden brother. Her journey promises to uncover the secrets her father left behind.

Originally conceived in collaboration with a college classmate, where Alameen served as the narrative designer, the project took a new direction when the partnership dissolved. Undeterred, Alameen embraced the challenge of game design to bring his vision to life single-handedly.

As you guide Huda through the game, you'll engage with point-and-click mechanics to navigate and interact with the environment, piecing together images, cracking codes, and solving puzzles. The game's atmosphere is a captivating blend of haunting beauty, drawing comparisons to classics like Myst and Heaven's Vault, as well as the eerie storytelling of H.P. Lovecraft's works.

Alameen opted for an innovative visual approach, utilizing both 2D and 360-degree images to create a visually striking experience. This method not only enhances the game's aesthetic but also ensures it can run smoothly on lower-end PCs. The cutscenes, meticulously crafted frame by frame, further elevate the storytelling.

My Father Lied will be available across multiple platforms, including the App Store, Google Play, and PC via Steam, priced at $10.99/€10.99. While you can add it to your Steam Wishlist now, mobile pre-registration is not yet available.
