Squad Busters is ditching win streaks! This means the endless climb for extra rewards is over. Here's what you need to know about this significant change and what's coming next.
Why the Change? And When?
Squad Busters found that win streaks, rather than celebrating player skill, were causing unnecessary pressure and frustration. Therefore, the feature is being removed on December 16th. Your highest win streak will remain on your profile as a record of your accomplishment.
To compensate for the removal, players who reached certain win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes.
Unfortunately, there will be no refunds for coins spent on win streaks. The developers explain that this is to maintain balance between free and paid players, as coins are crucial for obtaining characters from reward chests.
Player Reaction
The decision to remove win streaks has received mixed reactions. Some players welcome the change, hoping for a less pay-to-win environment. Others are less enthusiastic, particularly given the perceived inadequacy of the compensation.
Cyber Squad Season
Despite the win streak removal, there's plenty to enjoy in Squad Busters! The new Cyber Squad season is live, offering a wealth of rewards, including a free Solarpunk Heavy Skin. Jump into the battles and explore everything this season has to offer.
