Elden Ring Nightreign Testers Discover the Fell Omen Is Back via Morgott Jump-Scare Invasions

by Nicholas Apr 06,2025

The Fell Omen bosses from Elden Ring have become iconic, and it's thrilling to see FromSoftware bring them back in Elden Ring Nightreign, unleashing them across the Lands Between. Morgott, a notorious boss from the original game, continues to haunt players in Nightreign, where his phantom versions can unexpectedly invade your gameplay, much like in the original Elden Ring. This upgraded version of Morgott, referred to as an unnamed Fell Omen, adds a thrilling jump-scare element to the experience.

Morgott isn't the only boss capable of invading your squad in Nightreign, but his inclusion is particularly apt. His surprise appearances align perfectly with his behavior in Elden Ring, and he comes equipped with new voice lines and additional moves to challenge players. It's only fair that if you can bring friends into the fight, Morgott gets some new tricks up his sleeve.

Beyond invasions, the Fell Omen can also appear as an end-of-night boss, providing a climactic battle as the sun sets during the Elden Ring Nightreign test. This dual role enhances the unpredictability and excitement of the game.

Early testers, including the renowned player Let Me Solo Her, have faced off against the Fell Omen during the Elden Ring Nightreign sessions. The community's feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Morgott's invasion mechanic as a standout feature. Players have shared their encounters across various locations, from elevators to towers, highlighting the unpredictable nature of Morgott's appearances and the humorous situations that can arise.

The success of the Fell Omen's invasions has sparked interest in seeing other iconic enemies from the Souls series make surprise appearances. The Pursuer from Dark Souls 2, for instance, is a popular suggestion. Personally, the idea of Hunters from Bloodborne invading the game, though a distant hope, would be an exciting addition.

There may be even more to the Fell Omen's invasions than meets the eye. Reports from GamesRadar suggest that after being defeated by the Omen, a co-op partner was left with a curse mark, hinting at deeper mechanics that could be explored further.

Despite server issues during the first network test, many players still managed to dive into the Lands Between over the weekend. As we await the full release of Nightreign on May 30, the anticipation continues to build. For more insights, be sure to check out our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign.
