Clash of Clans is set to ditch Troop Training times in major overhaul

by Carter Apr 12,2025

Clash of Clans, an iconic name in mobile gaming, is about to undergo a significant transformation that many of its loyal fans have been eagerly awaiting. Supercell, the game's developer, has been gradually modernizing the game, and now they're preparing to make a groundbreaking change by completely eliminating troop, spell, and siege unit training times. Imagine deploying your army almost instantly and diving into battle quicker than ever before!

This follows Supercell's decision back in 2022 to remove training costs, signaling a continued effort to streamline the gameplay experience. As of today, Training Potions and Training Treats are being phased out from in-app purchases and chest rewards. You can still find them in the Trader and Gold Pass for now, but it's crucial to use them before the end of the month, as they'll be converted to Gems thereafter.

To help you make the most of this new change, Supercell is introducing a feature called "Match Anytime." This allows you to attack a snapshot of another player's base when no real-time opponents are available. You'll still earn rewards, but players whose bases are used won't lose anything if defeated. This mechanic, already used in Clan Wars and Legend League attacks, will now be a standard feature.

Keep an eye out for other updates as well, such as Army Donations now requiring Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For a deeper dive into these changes and more, head over to the Supercell blog.
