Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer Board Game
Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a board game. Connecting three black pieces (player-controlled) before the Lifer connects three white pieces opens gates in the maze. Each black piece placed on the outer circle opens walls/gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any time. Winning isn't necessary for the fight, but it's crucial for buff removal.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. Examine the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer to view these buffs.
Removable Buffs:
- Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of inactivity.
- Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and additional DMG increase every 20 seconds.
- Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking up to 4 times per DMG dealt.
- Decay of Time: Significant elemental resistance and increased Max HP.
Permanent Buffs:
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant DMG.
Obtaining Stakes of Imbalance
Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to four outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a Stake of Imbalance (marked by a white glow): two require Tacet Discord defeats, one involves breaking Friable Rocks, and one is on a table. Place each Stake in the module near its corresponding winged statue to remove a buff. The purple line turns yellow once a buff is removed.
Defeating the Lifer
After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (either via the board game or by selecting "Fight it out!"). The Lifer, without its buffs, is significantly weaker. Multiple victories yield various Supply Chests. You can re-enable the buffs for a greater challenge, though no achievements are tied to this.
Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all chests.
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.
For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves. It will eventually make a mistake.
