Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring, has partnered with Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by former Witcher 3 developers, for the global release of their debut action RPG, Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Forge Partnership for Dawnwalker
Further Dawnwalker Details Coming Soon
The collaboration, announced earlier this week, designates Bandai Namco as the worldwide publisher for Dawnwalker, the first installment in a planned action RPG saga. Launching in 2025, the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
Dawnwalker, a mature-rated AAA title, is a story-driven dark fantasy action RPG set in a medieval European setting. Rebel Wolves, established in 2022 in Warsaw, Poland, aims to redefine the RPG experience with its narrative focus. The studio plans to unveil more information in the coming months.
"Rebel Wolves is a unique blend of seasoned expertise and fresh creative energy," commented Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, in a press release. "Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, renowned for its commitment to RPGs and its support of new IPs, is the ideal partner. We share a common vision and their track record speaks volumes. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with them to bring the Dawnwalker saga to players worldwide."
Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, added, "This partnership marks a significant step in our Western market strategy. By leveraging our combined strengths, we'll deliver this exceptional game to a global audience."
Leading the creative direction is Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a veteran of CD Projekt Red and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, who joined Rebel Wolves earlier this year. Jakub Szamalek, co-founder and narrative director, also a CDPR veteran with over nine years of writing experience, confirms Dawnwalker as a new IP. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, featuring a non-linear narrative.
Tomaszkiewicz previously stated, "Our goal is to create an experience rich with choices and replayability. Collaborating with such a talented team to achieve this is incredibly exciting, and we can't wait to showcase the team's hard work."
