Like other Nightmare Echoes in Wuthering Waves, Nightmare Crownless can be obtained by farming its designated overworld spawn point. However, unlocking the ability to challenge this powerful spear-wielder involves completing the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest followed by an additional step. Here’s a detailed guide on how to unlock Nightmare Crownless.
Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide
The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest deviates from the norm in Wuthering Waves. Rather than initiating through an NPC or an interactable item, you'll find it listed in the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. To access this, simply open your map and click on the compass icon located in the upper-left corner, adjacent to your current location's name.
The quest intertwines with Quest of Faith, an optional mission requiring you to defeat four enemies across designated areas within Penitent's End. Start by heading to the Resonance Beacon near the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Once there, interact with the prompt near the circular arena by the beacon to engage in a battle against a Questless Knight reminiscent of those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest.
To successfully defeat these knights, you must lure them close to a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. These torches can be rekindled by provoking Fae Ignis enemies to strike them. Exercise caution and avoid using powerful skills near the torches, as this could inadvertently extinguish them.
How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa
After successfully completing both Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, your next step is to locate all four Dream Patrols scattered throughout Penitent's End. Although completing these challenges is optional, doing so can yield additional resources and Monnaie in Wuthering Waves. The locations of these Dream Patrols are marked in the image above. Once all patrols are discovered, Nightmare Crownless will become visible on your map, awaiting you in the ruins north of Penitent's End.
It's crucial to remember that Nightmare Echoes require Enhanced Absorption charges, which notably enhance the Echo drop rate. Players are allocated only 15 of these charges weekly, so it's advisable to use them judiciously if you're aiming to enhance multiple characters.
