"Suicide Squad: Final Major Update Released"

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has launched Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for their live-service game. Despite launching to mixed reviews in February 2024, Rocksteady announced in less than a year that they would cease further development on the title, effective with the January 14 patch. Players can now download this final update on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League initially promised to captivate superhero enthusiasts, the unexpected shift to a live-service model is widely regarded as a key factor in its short-lived success. Just 10 months after its debut, Rocksteady confirmed on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would conclude the game's content updates. In their announcement, the studio assured fans that all online functionalities would remain intact, allowing continued multiplayer enjoyment.

Following a brief server maintenance period, Rocksteady officially released the last content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With servers now operational, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by DC Super-Villain Libra, alongside new powerful Notorious weapons and a climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes crucial bug fixes and gameplay enhancements, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Although Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will continue running post-Season 4 Episode 8, players can also enjoy the game offline, thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7 in December. This update enables players to access the main campaign and all seasonal story missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady has not scheduled a complete server shutdown, the offline mode ensures fans can still play if the servers are ever taken offline.

For those yet to experience this DC anti-hero game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3. Subscribers can also enjoy The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered during this period.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Embark on a journey through the medieval Elseworld in Episode 8: Balance, where you'll encounter both familiar and new landscapes. Storm The Quarry, a fortified citadel, to overthrow the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a thrilling venue for jousting or interdimensional battles, while the majestic statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van evoke the era's chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

The Infamy Set for Episode 8 draws inspiration from Libra, a formidable DC Super-Villain fixated on balance. Libra's Infamy Set applies Scales of Libra stacks to enemies, amplifying both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack. This set promotes a high-risk, high-reward gameplay style, urging players to embrace a bold and dynamic approach.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra's Infamy Set, The Silencer's Complete Silence weapons, inspired by the deadly assassin The Silencer, deliver a 200% damage boost to enemies affected by Scales of Libra stacks. The Alt-Fire mode stands out, dealing 1,000% bonus damage and creating a Silencer Zone at the impact point, where enemies suffer 100% reduced damage, perfect for crowd control.

Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets excels at rapid enemy elimination, with bullets that pierce through foes, apply Scales of Libra stacks, and may electrify targets. Strategic positioning can maximize its potential to wreak havoc on multiple enemies simultaneously.

Chronos' Equilibrium enhances the glass cannon playstyle, offering a 25% damage increase for every 1% of Shield missing, pushing players into the thick of battle with a risky yet immensely powerful strategy.
