Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to get excited! IO Interactive has officially announced that their much-anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. As per IO Interactive's website, this new title will dive into a fresh narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer shared, giving fans a glimpse into the game's storyline.
In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's head, Hakan Abrak, elaborated on the development of this new origin story for the legendary spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak's vision extends beyond just a single game, hinting at the potential for a larger narrative arc: "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
