Have you tried Orna, the captivating fantasy RPG and GPS MMO crafted by Northern Forge Studios? The game is set to launch an extraordinary in-game event named Terra’s Legacy, designed to spotlight the pressing issue of environmental pollution. Mark your calendars, as Terra’s Legacy will unfold from September 9th to the 19th.
Lend A Hand In Reducing Pollution
During the Terra’s Legacy event, your adventures in Orna will seamlessly merge with tangible environmental efforts. As you navigate your daily life, Orna will guide you to locations marred by pollution and littered with debris.
By reporting these sites through the game, the developers at Northern Forge will transform them into Gloomsites—virtual representations of our planet's real-world pollution issues. At these Gloomsites, you'll confront the Murk, a formidable foe embodying waste and pollution, evoking the spirit of iconic characters like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind or Princess Mononoke.
Defeating the Murk not only contributes to raising awareness about pollution but also allows you to take practical steps towards environmental restoration. You can plant trees and cultivate Gaia apples at these polluted sites. These apples serve a dual purpose: they can be used to personalize your character and enhance their magical prowess.
What's more, other players can also harvest these Gaia apples, fostering a collective effort towards cleaner environments both in the game and in reality. The more players collaborate, the greater the impact on reducing pollution.
Orna is launching Terra’s Legacy in conjunction with the Green Game Jam 2024, an annual initiative where game developers worldwide unite to create events that promote environmental consciousness.
