Hotta Studios is gearing up for the first closed beta test of their highly anticipated 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness. Unfortunately, eager fans outside of mainland China will have to wait, as access to the beta is restricted to players within that region.
According to Gematsu, the beta test comes with some fresh lore insights into the game's world. If you've seen the trailers showcasing the city of Eibon, you'll already have a taste of what to expect. The narrative promises a slightly more comedic tone, blending the weird with the mundane in the world of Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World—the creators behind the successful Tower of Fantasy—brings their expertise to Neverness to Everness. The game fits into the evolving 3D RPG genre, which has been leaning towards urban settings, but it distinguishes itself with unique features. One standout is the inclusion of open-world driving. Players can indulge in high-speed chases through the city streets, and even purchase and customize their own vehicles. Just remember, crashes in the game are as impactful as in real life, so drive responsibly!
As Neverness to Everness approaches its release, it will enter a competitive market. It will face challenges from MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero, which has set a high bar for 3D open-world RPGs on mobile platforms. Additionally, NetEase's Naked Rain is developing Ananta (previously known as Project Mugen), which is set to compete in a similar space.
Never say ever...again
