Krafton's highly anticipated life simulator, inZOI, gets a new release date: March 28, 2025. This delay, announced by director Hyungjin "Kjun" Kim on the game's Discord, prioritizes delivering a polished and complete experience.
The decision stems from overwhelmingly positive player feedback received during character creator demos and playtests. Kjun likened the extended development to raising a child, emphasizing the commitment to delivering a superior product. The initial plan for an early access release before the year's end has been revised.
"After reviewing your feedback from inZOI… we have made our decision to release inZOI in Early Access on March 28, 2025," stated Kjun. "We apologize that we could not bring you the game sooner, but this decision reflects our commitment to giving inZOI the best possible start."
The delay, while potentially frustrating for some, showcases Krafton's dedication. The character creator alone saw a peak of 18,657 concurrent players during its brief availability on Steam before its removal on August 25, 2024. This demonstrates significant player interest.
inZOI, initially revealed in Korea in 2023, aims to rival The Sims with superior customization and realistic visuals. This strategic delay aims to avoid releasing an unfinished product, learning from the cancellation of Life By You earlier this year. However, this also places inZOI in direct competition with Paralives, another life simulator slated for a 2025 release.
The extended wait until March 2025 is expected, but Krafton assures players the result will be a game worthy of countless hours of gameplay "for years to come." inZOI aims to transcend being a mere Sims competitor, carving its own unique niche in the life simulation genre.
