"Infinity Nikki Players Threaten Uninstall Over Controversial Update 1.5 Changes"

by Julian May 03,2025

Infinity Nikki and its highly anticipated multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have now launched on Steam, but the release has been overshadowed by a flurry of controversy and player discontent.

After months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store, Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure finally hit Valve's digital storefront. However, instead of a celebratory moment for fans, the launch has been marred by a range of technical issues, unexpected design changes, and stringent outfit requirements. In response, the developers have issued an apology and promised compensation to affected players, yet the struggle for Infinity Nikki's future remains ongoing.

While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the community's grievances extend beyond performance problems.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has raised eyebrows. Players now face the daunting task of up to 220 pulls—and significant expenditure—to complete these sets, a stark increase from the usual requirements. This change, implemented without prior notice, has sparked fears that future outfit collection demands will only escalate.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This sudden change has left the community bewildered. Amidst these technical and design shifts, and as Infold implements more aggressive monetization tactics, a significant portion of the Infinity Nikki Chinese player base has taken to the social media platform RedNote to voice their concerns. This has sparked a global movement, with players urging others to boycott the game on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall it across all platforms.

Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized the importance of withholding pulls in a call-to-action post: "What I am reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message to the digital income trackers for the game. For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."

The backlash has had tangible effects, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players post negative reviews cautioning potential newcomers to steer clear until their demands are met and issues resolved.

The growing boycott prompted Infold to release an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical hiccups and promising improved communication regarding future changes.

“Thank you again for your support,” Infold’s message reads. “We know we still have shortcomings, but it’s because of your companionship that Nikki can keep pushing the boundaries of imagination. Please give us another chance to let Nikki’s starlight continue shining for all of us, ensuring our sincerity never fades.”

Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience

Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho

The apology included plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, along with compensation of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these steps are seen as progress, they fall short of the comprehensive changes many players are seeking.

While some see Infold's response as a victory, others remain wary, particularly about the persistence of 11-piece outfit requirements for five-star sets. The studio has committed to better communication, but concerns linger about the future of these demanding outfit collections.

I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the ongoing issues, Infinity Nikki players have celebrated the rapid response to their collective action, though they acknowledge it's not the complete solution they hoped for. The community now calls for sustained pressure to ensure their voices continue to be heard.

“Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces,” Reddit user EdensAsmr said. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it.”
