Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration
Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.
The centerpiece of today's announcements is The Tomb, a desert-themed map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another chapter to the Zombies universe in less than two weeks.

Treyarch's narrative summary explains that following the events of Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya heed Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, leading them to an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The catacombs, built upon ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s, hinting at secrets yet to be uncovered.
While details are scarce, The Tomb's storyline involves a British archeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe. Gameplay-wise, Treyarch promises a style similar to Liberty Falls—a compact map emphasizing replayability and hidden Easter eggs.
Season 2 also introduces a reimagined Wonder Weapon drawing inspiration from previous titles, and the return of a classic SMG. Further details on these additions remain shrouded in mystery.
Significant quality-of-life improvements are also slated for Season 2, including community-requested features. Players can now track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. A co-op pause option is added for Zombies, allowing the party leader to pause gameplay. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be implemented, along with the ability to rejoin Zombies matches with your loadout after disconnection.

Treyarch also shared Directed Mode statistics, revealing over 480 million hours played in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
