In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, Naoe or Yasuke can unlock new animals by interacting with them. This includes various dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens, along with the stray you can save during the pre-order DLC quest "Thrown to the Dogs."
Yasuke can also unlock small animals by painting them. This includes rabbits, fox kits, tanukis, and monkeys that you might encounter in the wild. Once documented, these critters can be added to the Hideout as well.
