Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another exciting game today that revitalizes the musou genre. Warriors: Abyss introduces a thrilling roguelite experience featuring beloved characters from the Warriors series, available now on multiple platforms.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss invites players to form a squad and battle through hordes of enemies. The game features an isometric camera angle, drawing inspiration from both Diablo and the Greek mythology-themed roguelite, Hades. Players will navigate their team through the depths of "hell," confronting demonic foes along the way. Familiar faces like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang from various Warriors titles were highlighted in the gameplay footage.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team over time, utilizing additional summoning actions during battles. You can manage up to seven active heroes in combat, with a roster of 100 warriors available at launch.Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the character lineup, starting with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future waves of characters, suggesting that figures from beyond the Warriors universe might join the fray.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also launch on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. Players looking to acquire the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should make their purchase before March 14, 2025.
