Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers three distinct campaigns, each with a hidden true ending. This guide details how to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction.

First, complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. You'll notice a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban," signifying an alternate scenario. Normally, you escort Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, to unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead.

This is challenging. You'll be significantly outnumbered, facing Cao Cao's army largely alone, embodying the series' iconic "1 vs. 1000" gameplay. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's means mission failure.

To improve your chances:

1. Reduce Difficulty: Select "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this crucial, especially at lower levels.
2. Choose Your Partner Wisely: Selecting Zhang Fei places you closer to Cao Cao's forces, reducing travel time.

Prepare for Cao Cao's Grand Tactics: two waves requiring officer eliminations and a significant soldier count (250). A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for rapid soldier clearing. Once his army is routed, defeating Cao Cao should be manageable. Afterward, a few additional missions lead to the Shu true ending.
