At a more affordable price compared to the Alienware and Asus 4K OLED offerings, it’s a smart choice. With its glossy coating, you’ll feel fully immersed when pairing this gaming monitor with a gaming PC. It comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, as well as USB-C.
One of the common issues with gaming monitors is insufficient brightness. The Gigabyte FO32U2 Pro, however, shines with 1,000 nits, offering a bright, thin, and stunning display with a distinct 'gamer' aesthetic.
Not all gaming PCs can handle a 4K monitor at 240Hz, but don’t let that deter you. The Gigabyte FO32U2 Pro is future-proof, ensuring a long-lasting investment.
Even if you don’t use it for gaming, the Gigabyte FO32U2 Pro’s OLED panel supports up to 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, providing accurate color representation for creatives. Whether gaming, designing, or watching movies, the colors will pop like never before.
The monitor offers an array of HDR modes, which can be initially overwhelming, but once properly configured, the display looks exceptional. Gigabyte includes features like picture-in-picture and an automatic black equalizer for fine-tuning. If you can invest over $1,000 in one of the best OLED monitors available, the Gigabyte FO32U2 Pro should be your top choice.

10The Alienware AW3423DW combines the beauty of OLED with an ultrawide display, enhancing your game's visual appeal and immersion.See it at AmazonProduct SpecificationsSize34”Pixel TypeQD-OLEDResolution3,440 x 1,440Max Refresh Rate175HzVRRYesHDR10YesPROSUltrawide displayDeep blacksCONSLack of HDMI 2.1Packing Quantum Dot technology in its OLED panel, my review of the Alienware AW3423DW shows why it’s one of the best ultrawide monitors on the market. Quantum Dots enhance colors and brightness on top of the already impressive contrast and dynamic range. The blacks are truly black, retaining detail in shadowy scenes, while the display reaches up to 1000-nit peak brightness in HDR. However, at only 250-nit peak brightness in SDR, it may appear dim in brightly lit rooms.
The color performance is outstanding, covering 99.3% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, and sRGB performance was excellent in our tests. The unit came well-calibrated, delivering stunning, true-to-life colors right out of the box. This makes the Alienware AW3423DW not only ideal for gaming but also a viable option for creatives.
The 34-inch display has a unique resolution of 3,440 x 1,440, which falls between 1440p and 4K, offering sharp details and solid picture quality. The 1800R curvature enhances immersion without distortion.
The Alienware AW3423DW boasts a speedy 175Hz refresh rate, perfect for those with the GPU power to push this display. Even if you can't maintain 175 fps, the monitor supports G-Sync Ultimate to eliminate screen tearing. The 0.1 ms GtG response time is also exceptionally fast, making it ideal for competitive esports players.
The biggest disappointment is its I/O panel. While it offers plenty of ports, including multiple USBs, HDMIs, and a DisplayPort, it only supports HDMI 2.0, limiting console gaming to 60Hz instead of the 120Hz that current-gen consoles can achieve. Nonetheless, it remains a great Alienware gaming monitor worth considering.

With a jaw-dropping 32:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440, this monitor delivers crisp visuals and vibrant colors thanks to its Samsung QD-OLED panel technology. This technology enhances OLED with Quantum Dot technology, reducing the risk of burn-in while delivering deeper colors. Coupled with a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, it's a perfect fit for all types of gamers, provided you can afford it.
The monitor can be used as two 1440p displays with dual display cables, ideal for games that don't support such a wide aspect ratio or for multitasking. When used as a single display, it offers one of the most immersive gaming experiences available.
Its sleek and modern design, combined with a glossy panel coating that enhances contrast, makes it a standout centerpiece for any gaming setup. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 G93SC is undoubtedly the best large OLED monitor on the market, providing unparalleled gaming and viewing experiences. As a follow-up to the LG UltraGear 27GR95QE-B, it features a brighter display and several performance enhancements. The 1000-nit peak brightness in HDR is a significant improvement over the older model's 800 nits, ensuring it performs well in various lighting conditions, though glare can be an issue in brightly lit spaces.
As an OLED monitor, it offers a near-infinite contrast ratio for deep blacks in dark scenes without any blooming. Colors are impressive, with DCI-P3 98.5% coverage and accurate sRGB mode, although other picture settings are limited in sRGB mode. It’s an excellent choice for content creators and gamers who appreciate vibrant visuals, with HDR10 compatibility enhancing the experience further.
For gaming, this UltraGear monitor boasts a speedy 240Hz refresh rate, which is more than sufficient for most players. Many GPUs struggle to hit 240Hz at 1440p, so this isn't a concern. The action remains smooth, thanks to FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatibility, ensuring minimal tearing. The fast response time and low input lag make the LG UltraGear 27GS95QE an excellent gaming monitor.
In addition to its stunning visuals and performance, this monitor offers ample connectivity with two HDMI 2.1 inputs, allowing for 120Hz gameplay on PS5 and Xbox Series X with VRR support.

Although I didn't review this model personally, I was impressed when I first saw it. The 15.6-inch Full HD OLED panel delivers 400 nits of brightness and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, ideal for HDR content. With a swift 1ms response time, everything from web browsing to video streaming feels smooth.
The OLED panel sets this monitor apart, with colors that seem to leap off the screen. While its peak brightness doesn't match larger gaming monitors, its infinite contrast delivers excellent dynamic range. For gaming, you'll need to settle for 60Hz, but the picture quality compensates for this.
The built-in proximity sensor switches the monitor to power-saving mode when you move away, helping to save battery and prevent burn-in. The included case allows for both horizontal and vertical orientation, providing versatility. Connectivity options include a headphone jack, two USB-C/DisplayPort ports, an additional USB-C port for power, and a mini-HDMI port.
This monitor is one of my favorite portable options, offering OLED sharpness in a compact form.

For under $300, you get a gaming monitor with blacks nearly as deep as OLED, using an IPS panel. It boasts a peak HDR brightness of around 1,000 nits for full-screen whites and over 1,000 nits for highlights, ideal for HDR. It also uses quantum dots for enhanced color coverage, making it perfect for creators.
The key to its performance is a mini-LED backlight with 1,152 local dimming zones, twice as many as its nearest competitor. This allows it to rival gaming monitors costing much more. While some blooming is present, it's reduced compared to similar-priced monitors, and the blacks are deep while highlights and colors pop. The experience is remarkably close to OLED without the risks.
To maintain its low price, it lacks extra features like a built-in USB hub or KVM and has limited gaming options in its OSD. If you need precise color accuracy, calibration with a colorimeter is recommended. Despite these minor limitations, this monitor offers exceptional value.
How To Pick the Best OLED Monitor
When choosing the perfect OLED monitor, consider the size that suits your needs. OLED monitors range from compact 24-inch models to expansive 55-inch displays. Assess your desk space and intended use. Graphic designers and video editors may prefer larger, high-resolution screens like 4K for detailed work, while gamers might prioritize refresh rates and response times over size.
Also, consider the features and connectivity options. Do you need multiple HDMI ports for various devices? What about USB-C for data transfer and charging? Some OLED monitors offer built-in speakers, adjustable stands, and HDR support for enhanced colors and contrast. Prioritize the features that matter most to you.
OLED monitors can be pricier than their LCD counterparts, but their superior picture quality and performance often justify the investment. Set a budget based on your needs and research to find the best value.
OLED Monitor FAQ
Is OLED or Mini-LED better?
Both types of monitors have their advantages and drawbacks. OLED monitors are renowned for their incredible contrast and color accuracy, though they may have lower overall brightness and a risk of burn-in, which is less of an issue in modern models. Mini-LED monitors, which are IPS or VA panels with ultra-bright LEDs, offer better contrast and brightness without burn-in risk, but may exhibit "blooming." The choice depends on what you prioritize and your risk tolerance for a significant investment.
Is OLED burn-in still an issue?
While OLED displays can experience burn-in, modern monitors include protections like pixel shifting and intelligent dimming to mitigate this. Image retention, which can occur before burn-in, typically dissipates after a few minutes.
Is 4K worth it over 1440p?
4K monitors provide sharper and crisper images due to their higher pixel count. However, they demand more from your computer. To fully enjoy a 4K OLED monitor, you'll need a powerful graphics card like an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super.
When can you find discounts on OLED monitors?
Retailers often discount older OLED models when new lineups are released. Major sales events like Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday are prime times to buy gaming monitors, with additional opportunities during Back to School season and winter holidays.
