Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before Anniversary

Star Wars: Hunters is shutting down before it even reaches its first anniversary—though it will technically celebrate that milestone before its final closure. But is there any real value in commemorating a game that’s already on life support?

What Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown Date?

The official server shutdown is scheduled for October 1st, 2025. After launching just nine months ago, the game is coming to an end. Players now have a few extra weeks to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Zynga, the game’s developer and publisher, is releasing one final content update on April 15th, introducing Tuya—a last free Support Hunter. In-game purchases will also be disabled from that day forward.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and seasonal events will be rerun. If you have leftover Crystals, be sure to use them—no refunds will be issued.

The Shutdown Comes as No Surprise

Sadly, it appears Hunters was on a path to failure from the very beginning. First announced in 2020, the game saw multiple delays, with beta tests limited to SEA and ANZAC regions.

Repeated delays, a lack of major console support, and a lukewarm reception all contributed to the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters.

Even in terms of character design, the developers missed an easy opportunity. The Star Wars universe is filled with iconic heroes and villains, yet the game introduced generic original characters instead of tapping into the galaxy’s legendary figures.

If you’ve uninstalled but want to dive back in for one last session, the game remains downloadable until the shutdown date. You can still find it on the Google Play Store.
