My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I dive back in with excitement whenever a new set is released, staying engaged as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily to open packs, enjoying a Wonder Pick for fun, and then moving on until the next day. This pattern is set to repeat with the upcoming expansion, Shining Revelry, launching on March 27th.
This expansion will bring 110 new cards into the mix, featuring a range of new Ex Pokemon, Trainer cards, and those stunning art cards we've all come to adore. What's particularly thrilling about Shining Revelry, as hinted by its name, is the inclusion of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique, differently colored versions of familiar creatures. For instance, Lucario appears in a striking yellow instead of its usual blue, while Pachirisu boasts a charming pink stripe.
The trailer, which you can view below, offers just a sneak peek of what's to come. Among the highlights is a new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and a powerful move called Steam Artillery that deals 150 damage. However, it requires a hefty five energy to use. Thankfully, its other ability, Stoke, allows you to attach three Fire Energy cards at once, speeding up the process.
Another exciting addition is Lucario Ex. Previously more of a support in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is ready to take a more direct role in battles. With 150 HP and an attack like Aura Sphere, which deals 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and hits an opponent's Benched Pokemon for an additional 30 damage, it promises to be a formidable contender.
The trailer also teases other cards that, while not game-changers, are still delightful additions. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on their way, each looking fantastic. Additionally, there's a stunning Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.
