Want to use or mute voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds? While it's a multiplayer game, you're not obligated to chat. But if you want to, and aren't using Discord or similar services, here's how to manage in-game voice chat.

All voice chat settings reside within the game's audio menu. Navigate to the options menu (either in-game or on the main menu screen), and select the third tab from the right. Scroll down slightly to find the Voice Chat settings. You'll see three options: Enable, Disable, and Push-to-Talk. "Enable" keeps voice chat constantly on; "Disable" turns it off completely; and "Push-to-Talk" activates voice chat only when you press a designated key (keyboard only).

Beyond the basic on/off settings, you can also adjust the voice chat volume to your preference. The "Voice Chat Auto-Toggle" option lets you prioritize voice chat for either quest members (those currently in your hunting party), link party members (those in a pre-formed group, often used for cooperative story progression), or disable automatic switching altogether. For most players, prioritizing quest members will be the most practical setting.

That covers voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds. While the in-game audio quality isn't as polished as dedicated communication apps, it's a convenient built-in option, particularly useful for cross-platform play.
