Marvel Snap: Top Agamotto Decks Revealed

Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! This season introduces Agamotto, a powerful Season Pass card and ancient sorcerer, to the game. Let's explore the best Agamotto decks.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with the ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:

  • Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)
  • Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)
  • Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)
  • Images of Ikonn (4-cost): On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)

Notice the Ancient Arcana lack power cost and feature the "Banish" keyword. They are Skill cards, not character cards, and are banished after playing; they cannot be returned to play. This means they combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull him, Ravonna won't discount him, and Mister Negative won't affect him. Agamotto's diverse Arcana effects make him difficult to categorize into a single archetype.

Best Early Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While Agamotto's definitive archetype may take time to develop, he currently fits well into Wiccan Control and Push Scream decks.

Wiccan Control:

Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth. [Untapped decklist link here]

This deck is expensive, featuring mostly Series 5 cards (Quicksilver being the exception). Many cards can be substituted with similar cost alternatives. Bolts of Balthakk provides late-game energy even if Wiccan isn't drawn early. The Arcana synergize well: Temporal Manipulation retrieves Agamotto, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful copies, especially with Cassandra Nova or Galactus. Cassandra Nova benefits from the release of Eson, fitting into Arishem decks.

Push Scream:

Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto. [Untapped decklist link here]

This deck is also expensive (Series 5 cards: Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, Cannonball). Substitutions include Nightcrawler for Hydra Bob and Jeff for Iron Patriot. Wombs of Watoomb synergizes directly with Agamotto; Temporal Manipulation makes him a strong turn 6 play, and Images of Ikonn creates multiple copies of key cards for powerful board control. Agamotto adds unpredictability and counters decks using Luke Cage and Shadow King.

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto, if un-nerfed, is comparable in power to Thanos or Arishem. He'll be a meta-shifting card, creating powerful synergies and potentially frustrating opponents. Given his potential to form his own archetype, the $9.99 USD Season Pass is a worthwhile investment if you have the budget.
