The Pointer Sisters' track "Hot Together" has experienced a phenomenal surge in Spotify streams, skyrocketing by 182,000% within just two hours of its inclusion in the newly released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. The trailer debuted yesterday, and although Spotify's figures have not been updated since, "Hot Together" currently stands at over 250,000 streams. This number is expected to climb significantly in the coming days.

"Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else," remarked Sulinna Ong, Spotify's Global Head of Editorial. "Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it's great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way."

The Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer has already amassed an impressive 77.7 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release. The surge in popularity for "Hot Together" mirrors the impact seen with Tom Petty's "Love Is A Long Road," which featured in the first trailer for the game late in 2023. That song also saw a massive increase in streams, sparking numerous fan theories about its connection to the game's storyline. While no such theories have yet emerged for "Hot Together," the excitement around the track is undeniable.

As fans eagerly await the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, now scheduled for May 26, 2026, after a recent delay, they have plenty of great music to enjoy.
