Genshin Impact 5.0 Update Leaks: New Dendro DPS and Natlan's Arrival
A recent leak reveals details about a new five-star Dendro DPS character slated for Genshin Impact's 5.0 update, coinciding with the introduction of the highly anticipated Natlan region. This update follows the completion of Fontaine's storyline and promises a wealth of new content, including terrain, characters, weapons, and storylines. Natlan, known for its Pyro affiliation and war-like culture, is ruled by the Pyro Archon, Murata, also known as the God of War.
The leaked information, from leaker Uncle K, describes the new character as a male Claymore-wielding Dendro DPS. His abilities reportedly center around the Bloom and Burning elemental reactions. Bloom is created by combining Dendro and Hydro, spawning Dendro Cores. Burning, a simpler reaction combining Dendro and Pyro, applies a damage-over-time (DoT) effect. This character's combination of element and weapon type would be a first for a five-star unit.
Community Concerns Regarding Burning Reaction
The reliance on the Burning reaction raises concerns amongst players, as it's generally considered weaker than other Dendro reactions. This contrasts with the upcoming four-star Dendro support character, Emilie (Update 4.8), who was initially designed around Burning but has since received buffs for broader team compatibility.
While the Natlan Pyro Archon's arrival is confirmed, the 4.8 Special Program (around July 5th) might offer further reveals of Natlan characters. Additionally, leaks suggest Columbina, the Third Fatui Harbinger, will be the primary antagonist of the Natlan arc, potentially debuting as a powerful Cryo user in 2025.
