How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
Upgrading your arsenal in Freedom Wars Remastered begins once you reach Level 002 Code Clearance in the main storyline. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Head to the Weapon Development Facility to manage your weapons. Upgrades require specific resources and Entitlement Points, though costs can be mitigated by enlisting a Citizen, each offering different reduction rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. While it might seem complex, the system becomes intuitive with practice.
Before you commit to an upgrade, the game displays a preview of the stat changes. The Weapon Development Facility also enables you to add Elements and tinker with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate your weapon to a higher Grade, you'll need to acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
In the initial phases of the main story, missions don't typically yield high-Grade weapons. While you can buy weapons and combat items from Zakka in The Warren, these are often limited to Grade Level 1, making upgrades nearly indispensable. Your CODE 3 Exams will require you to secure higher Grade Development Facility Permits, allowing you to enhance any weapon you favor and continue using it. You can also donate Low-Grade weapons obtained from missions to reduce your sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.
The first upgrade at the Weapon Development Facility unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with more achievements linked to the upgrading system, which adds an extra layer of motivation for trophy hunters. The stark difference in damage between weapons of varying Grades underscores the importance of dedicating time to improve your gear.
Later in the game, you'll gain access to the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, further expanding your customization options.
