Fortnite's new Reload mode throws players back to the game's roots with a modern twist. This nostalgic mode crams 40 players onto a smaller map packed with iconic locations from past seasons, creating intense close-quarters combat.
What's in Store for Fortnite's Reload Mode?
Reload mode offers a unique twist on the traditional Battle Royale and Zero Build experiences. Squads fight for survival, but a full squad wipe means immediate elimination—no second chances. The last squad standing wins.
The action unfolds on a compact island featuring classic locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row. While drivable vehicles are absent, the mode compensates with a diverse selection of unvaulted weapons. Expect to see old favorites like the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler, adding a layer of strategic depth.
Victory Crowns remain a key element. Reboots are possible, but players return with a common Assault Rifle (and building materials in Build mode). The Reboot Timer adds another layer of urgency, starting at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 seconds as the match progresses. Eliminating enemies reduces this timer, allowing for faster revivals. Players can also choose to initiate a reboot immediately.
When You're Eliminated
Elimination isn't just an end; it's a strategic opportunity. Fallen players drop Small Shield Potions, assorted ammo, and 50 of each building material (in Build mode), keeping the battle dynamic and resource-driven.
The mode also features intro quests that reward players with substantial XP boosts. Completing three quests unlocks the Digital Dogfight Contrail, six quests unlock the Pool Cubes Wrap, and nine quests unlock the NaNa Bath Back Bling. Securing a Victory Royale grants players The Rezzbrella Glider.
