Earth vs. Mars Announced by Company of Heroes Developer Relic Entertainment

by Nora Mar 26,2025

Get ready for an exciting new addition to the strategy gaming world as Relic Entertainment, the renowned developer behind Company of Heroes, unveils Earth vs. Mars. This upcoming smaller-scale turn-based strategy game is set to launch this Summer on PC via Steam, promising a thrilling experience inspired by the classic Nintendo DS game, Advance Wars.

In Earth vs. Mars, players are tasked with defending our planet from a full-scale Martian invasion. The game introduces a unique twist with the Splice-O-Tron, allowing players to create bizarre and powerful creature-human hybrids such as the Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly. These innovative hybrids will be essential in combating the Martian threat, which includes high-tech saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors.

Relic Entertainment's narrative sets the stage for a desperate struggle for survival, where players will take on the role of commanders leading Earth's resistance against decades of secret Martian abductions and the harvesting of atomic essence from humans and animals.

The game offers a robust lineup of features, including a 30+ mission single-player campaign, online multiplayer where you can choose to play as either Earth or Mars, a VS Mode to test your skills against the game's AI, and a map editor for those who love to customize their gaming experience.

Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell shared his enthusiasm about the project, stating, "We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles. Relic Entertainment recently announced a new strategy: Alongside continuing to work on the traditional RTS titles that we’re known for, we’re also going to work on smaller Indie style games in order to explore new sub-genres, experiment, get our creative juices going, and release games more frequently."

If Earth vs. Mars piques your interest, you can wishlist it on Steam to stay updated on its release. Get ready to join the resistance and defend Earth with your strategic prowess and unique creature-human hybrids this Summer!
