What Is a Cursed Object in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Objects, also known as "Cursed Possessions," are unique items randomly appearing on each map (depending on game mode and settings). Activation requires finding and interacting with them in-game. Unlike standard equipment, Cursed Objects offer significant advantages—but at a cost. These "cheats" come with drawbacks like rapid sanity loss, temporary blindness, or triggering a perilous "cursed" hunt. Use them wisely; sometimes, leaving them untouched is the safer bet. Note that Cursed Objects won't appear at all difficulty levels or in Challenge Mode.

Phasmophobia currently features seven Cursed Objects, each with unique abilities and debilitating effects. A common side effect is significant sanity drain for the user. Proximity to the user during activation significantly increases the chance of a "cursed hunt." These hunts are identical to regular hunts but ignore sanity levels and last 20 seconds longer, making escape more challenging.

The following table details each Cursed Object and its mechanics. This list will be updated with future additions.

Cursed ObjectAbility
Tarot Cards10 random cards; each provides buffs, debuffs, or increases ghost activity. The "Death" card can trigger a Cursed Hunt.

The Haunted Mirror is the safest and most beneficial Cursed Object. It reveals the ghost's favorite room, significantly speeding up investigation, especially on larger maps. Limit use to avoid sanity loss and triggering a Cursed Hunt.
