Maximize Your Pokémon TCG Pocket Experience: A Booster Pack Guide
At launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers three Genetic Apex booster packs: Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu. This guide prioritizes which packs to open first to optimize your card collection and deck building.
Which Booster Packs Should You Open First?
Undeniably, the Charizard pack offers the best starting point. It provides access to not only Charizard Ex, a cornerstone for high-damage Fire-type decks, but also Sabrina, arguably the game's strongest Supporter card. Beyond these key cards, you'll also find powerful additions like Starmie Ex, Kangaskhan, and Greninja, along with Erika and Blaine, vital for Fire and Grass deck construction.
Booster Pack Priority: A Ranked Approach
Here's the recommended order for opening your booster packs:
- Charizard: Focus on acquiring versatile, essential cards that can integrate into various deck types.
- Mewtwo: A solid choice for building a powerful Psychic deck centered around Mewtwo Ex and the Gardevoir line. These cards are strong but less versatile than those in the Charizard pack.
- Pikachu: While the Pikachu Ex deck currently dominates the meta, its cards are less adaptable to different deck strategies. With the introduction of Promo Mankey, the Pikachu Ex deck's meta dominance is likely temporary.
While completing all three packs is necessary for secret missions, prioritizing the Charizard pack ensures you acquire highly useful and adaptable cards early. Use any remaining Pack Points to acquire any missing cards you need.
