Extinction marks the conclusion of the main ARK storyline, introducing a unique set of challenges. If you’ve mastered Scorched Earth and Aberration, prepare for something different. The landscape is parched, with water sources vanished, pushing you to get inventive for loot. You’re thrust into a post-apocalyptic world, riddled with Element and bizarre creatures, including both robotic and organic rexes. As a lone survivor, your mission is to unravel the origins of the Ark system.

Alongside the new map, several updates have been rolled out. Players can now benefit from a new Thick Skin insulation buff, enhancing survival rates. In multiplayer PVE, creatures will roam from static locations to prevent griefing. Additionally, there are new limits on the number of light sources players can place, reducing spammy constructions.
