Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Game Details

In a recent FAQ, developer Saber Interactive outlined key details about Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 ahead of its September 9 launch. The studio explicitly stated that the anticipated action title won't incorporate DRM solutions like Denuvo.

Digital rights management technology, commonly used to deter piracy, has generated controversy among gamers due to potential performance impacts. Notable cases include Capcom's Enigma DRM implementation in Monster Hunter Rise, which reportedly caused compatibility issues with Steam Deck and mods.

While Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will forego traditional DRM, Saber Interactive will implement Easy Anti-Cheat for PC versions. This anti-cheat system previously faced criticism during the Apex Legends ALGS 2024 tournament hacking incident.

The developers also confirmed no current plans for official mod support, though the game will launch with multiple compelling features: PvP arenas, horde mode, and an advanced photo mode. Importantly, all gameplay content will be freely accessible, with monetization limited to optional cosmetic purchases.
