Spring may be here, but a cool breeze is blowing into Pokémon Go this April as Vanillite, the Fresh Snow Pokémon, becomes the star of next month's Community Day. The event runs on April 27th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm local time, giving you plenty of chances to encounter Vanillite in the wild—and with a bit of luck, you could find its rare Shiny form.
But the fun doesn't end with catching Vanillite. If you evolve it into Vanilluxe during the event or before May 4th, it will learn the powerful Charged Attack, Avalanche. In Trainer Battles, Avalanche delivers 90 power, while in Gyms and Raids, it deals 85 power—making it a strong option for your battle teams.
For those looking to enhance the experience, a Community Day Special Research ticket is available for $2. By completing tasks, you’ll get encounters with Vanillite set against a special Might and Mastery background, plus additional Vanillite encounters, a Premium Battle Pass, Rare Candy XL, and other rewards.
There's also a Timed Research option available through the following week, offering another opportunity to catch a Vanillite with the exclusive backdrop. Additionally, Field Research tasks tied to the event will reward Stardust, Great Balls, and more Vanillite encounters. Some tasks might even lead to a Vanillite with the unique event background.

During the event, several bonuses will be active to help you get the most out of your playtime. You'll earn triple XP for catching Pokémon, double Candy for each capture, and Trainers level 31 and up will have double the chance to get Candy XL. Lure Modules and Incense will last for three hours, and trading Stardust costs will be reduced.
