The popular digital board game, Ticket to Ride, is expanding its railway empire with the new Switzerland expansion! This exciting addition opens up routes through Switzerland and its neighboring countries, introducing both country-to-country and city-to-country connections. Build your railroad network across a wider range of options and strategize your way to victory.
This holiday season update also includes two new characters and four new route tokens, adding fresh gameplay mechanics. Developer Marmalade aimed to deliver a festive gift to Ticket to Ride fans, offering both new locations and strategic depth. The expansion is designed to appeal to both seasoned players and newcomers, encouraging dynamic and engaging gameplay.
Country-to-country tickets challenge players to connect specific countries, offering multiple route choices and varying point values for completion. For example, connecting France might offer routes to Germany, Italy, or Austria, each with a different point reward. City-to-country tickets present a similar challenge, but require connecting a city to a country.
Strategic planning is key, as each country features a limited number of connection points. Successfully completing tickets earns points based on the highest-scoring connection, while failing to connect results in point deductions based on the ticket's lowest value.
