Stardew Valley Creator Gives Update on Upcoming Switch Patch

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is addressing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version.
  • A Nintendo Switch patch resolving these problems is coming soon.
  • These issues have already been fixed on PC, console, and mobile platforms.

Stardew Valley developer, ConcernedApe, has announced on social media that a Nintendo Switch patch addressing the game-breaking divorce crash and raccoon shop bugs will be released soon. While these issues have been resolved on PC, mobile, and other consoles, the Switch update is still under development.

Since its 2016 release, Stardew Valley has seen numerous updates and improvements. Its charming pixel art, relaxing gameplay, and consistent updates from ConcernedApe have maintained its enduring popularity. A recent update addressed persistent issues, and the final piece of that puzzle—the Switch patch—is nearing completion.

ConcernedApe recently confirmed on Twitter that the patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems is "still coming," though a specific release date hasn't been given. The developer assures players it will be released as soon as possible. These issues, among others, surfaced after the launch of update 1.6 and have already been addressed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Following a Christmas announcement about the Switch patch being in development, it now appears close to release.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Addressing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop: Coming Soon

Stardew Valley's major 1.6 update, released on PC in March, introduced significant new content, including expanded NPC interactions, a new Meadowlands Farm, and additional festivals and events. Visual improvements such as waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal map variations were also added.

Despite resolving many issues, update 1.6 unintentionally introduced new problems. The console and mobile releases in November revealed several bugs, including game-breaking ones. A swift emergency patch addressed mobile issues on November 15th, while work continued on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe's transparent communication and responsiveness. While the Switch patch isn't yet available, players can be confident it's actively under development and will be released soon.
