Star Wars: Hunter shutting down in late 2025, final content update next month

by Christopher Mar 22,2025

Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's foray into the Star Wars mobile gaming universe, is closing its doors after less than a year. Launched in June 2024 for iOS and Android, the game's unique blend of game show aesthetics and fresh Star Wars character interpretations initially captured attention. However, the game's servers will shut down on October 1st, 2024, with a final content update arriving April 15th.

This closure announcement came as a surprise, given the lack of prior indications of underperformance. While Zynga's strength as a company suggests deeper reasons for the game's shelving, the saturated mobile hero shooter market and a potentially mismatched target audience (considering the age demographic of the average Star Wars fan) are likely contributing factors. The final hunter, Tuya, will still be released as part of the final update and will be free for all players. In-game currency refunds are available, and select seasonal events will be rerun as Season 3 is extended.

For those who haven't experienced Star Wars: Hunters, there's still time to jump in before the October shutdown. Check out our tier list of Hunters ranked by class for a helpful guide!
