Nintendo has announced a postponement of the Alarmo alarm clock's general retail release in Japan due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock. Initially slated for February 2025, the launch is now delayed indefinitely. The company hasn't yet indicated whether this will affect other regions. A wider public release is still planned for March 2025.

The Alarmo, launched globally in October, features iconic Nintendo soundtracks from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with future updates promised. Its immediate popularity led to online orders being temporarily halted and a lottery system implemented. Physical stock quickly sold out in Japan and even at the New York Nintendo store.
