Myst-Like Lovecraftian Point-And-Click Puzzle My Father Lied Is Coming to Android This Year

In today's crowded gaming landscape, finding a truly unique game can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating narrative and intriguing gameplay. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure offers a compelling story that sets it apart from the competition.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't originally aiming for a career in game development. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, but the story concept remained. Alameen, undeterred, taught himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, independently bringing his vision to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery: The Game's Story

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and surprises. Players take on the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

Drawing inspiration from 7000 years of Mesopotamian culture, My Father Lied blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. The puzzles are straightforward point-and-click, avoiding complex controls, and feature beautiful 2D visuals and 360-degree images.
