Marvel's Spider-Man '94 Comic Expands Animated Series Story

by Alexander Nov 12,2025

Fans of the classic 1990s cartoon, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, have eagerly awaited a revival, especially with the arrival of X-Men '97 in 2024. While a new animated series isn't currently in development—Marvel is focusing on new seasons of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man—the story will continue in comic book form with Spider-Man '94.

Spider-Man '94 is a four-issue limited series that picks up right after the show’s memorable cliffhanger ending from 1998. The story reunites Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson in New York City and introduces two classic Spider-Man villains making their first appearance in this animated universe. The series is written by veteran Spidey writer J.M. DeMatteis, who also contributed to the original animated series, with art by Jim Towe and covers by Nick Bradshaw, Ron Lim, and John Tyler Christopher.
