No Man's Sky: A Guide to Obtaining Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide covers gathering, farming, and crafting methods to ensure a steady supply.

Finding Solanium on Hot Planets

Locating Solanium:

Solanium is found on hot and arid planets, similar to Frost Crystals' location on cold planets. When scanning planets from your ship, look for designations like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched Planet." The presence of Solanium will also be indicated.

Identifying Solar Vines

Upon landing, use your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, collect Phosphorus deposits if available; they're crucial for crafting Solanium.

Farming Solanium:

Farming Solar Vines

Once you've progressed in the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting takes roughly 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium:

Crafting Solanium Recipes

Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (creates more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note: All methods, even those using Sulphurine, necessitate visiting a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
