Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Canker Cure Guide

Early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the “Canker” side quest becomes available after completing “The Jaunt.” This quest offers a chance to acquire a mace and some extra Groschen. Here’s how to complete it.

Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To begin “Canker,” speak with Gules in Semine. Conveniently, you can initiate this quest during Lord Semine and Agnes’s wedding, while Gules is enjoying a drink. However, it's also accessible beforehand; find him on patrol in Semine and inquire about his former bandit group. Offer your assistance in eliminating them, and Canker, the first target, will be added to your objectives.

Find and Kill Canker

Accepting the quest marks Canker’s location on your map, north of Nebakov Mill. Be warned: the route is frequently patrolled by bandits who may ambush you. Choose your approach: stealth, combat, or a hasty retreat. While these bandits aren't overly challenging, skirmishes can deplete your health before the main quest confrontation.

Canker's hideout is nestled within the mountains, easily missed due to a narrow passage—similar to the Hermit’s house in “Wedding Crashers.” Prepare for combat before entering, as several bandits will accompany Canker. Note that some bandits might flee depending on the order you eliminate them, but thorough combat is necessary to complete the quest objective. Fortunately, Canker himself doesn't run.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

To complete the quest, loot Canker's body after defeating him and his cohorts. The Light Mace is the essential item, though you’re free to take other spoils. Return to Gules with the mace to finish “Canker.”

After completing “Canker,” wait a full in-game day before continuing with Gules’ questline. Speak to him again to begin “Handsome Charlie.”
