Crab Royale: King of Crabs Unleashes Epic Warfare

Upon its release in 2019, King of Crabs quickly gained popularity thanks to its unique and oddly charming concept—a battle royale game featuring crabs. Now, the developer Robot Squid is diving back into the crustacean chaos with an even grander vision. The new title is King of Crabs – Invasion.

Evolving from Crab Battle Royale to Full-Scale Crab Warfare

For this new installment, Robot Squid has shifted the gameplay format. Rather than joining a frantic free-for-all with 99 other players in a tidepool, the game adopts a real-time strategy approach. Essentially, they've transformed the original chaos into a compact RTS experience.

Similar to the previous game, you still command crabs in combat in King of Crabs – Invasion. However, instead of scavenging for weapons and consuming smaller creatures to grow larger, you now strategically deploy units across a linear battlefield.

Your arsenal includes standard crab infantry, catapults, and heavily armored tanks wielding mace-like claws. Each match focuses on overpowering your opponent before they can dominate your side of the map. Success also hinges on the specific terrain and any unpredictable obstacles that arise.

King of Crabs – Invasion Arrives on Android

The game is already available in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. For players worldwide, the global launch on Android is set for May 30th, which is just three days away. This release acts more as a spin-off from the original game.

Speaking of the original, King of Crabs was the debut project from Robot Squid, a British indie studio established in 2018. They collaborated with Spilt Milk Studios to release the game in 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS. At its peak, some even described it as "Fortnite with claws."
