Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action brawler, formerly known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back and rebranded as The Hidden Ones, slated for a 2025 release. A pre-alpha test is planned for January.
The game, based on the popular webcomic, features intense 3D brawling, exciting parkour sequences, and more. Set in modern-day China, it follows the journey of young martial artist Zhang Chulan as he uncovers the extraordinary demand for his grandfather's unique martial arts techniques.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive combat mechanics, including dynamic parkour across cityscapes, energy projectile exchanges, and thrilling martial arts-style brawls. The trailer also features Wang Ye, a secondary protagonist.
A New Identity
Tracking down information on The Hidden Ones has proven challenging, given the series' multiple names. However, initial impressions suggest a visually striking game from Morefun Studios. The game's grittier, darker aesthetic stands out, offering a more grounded feel than many other 3D ARPGs.
The game's success, however, will likely hinge on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material.
