Google Play Store Might Soon Auto-Launch Installed Apps For You

Google Play Store may soon introduce a game-changing feature: automatic app launching. Tired of downloading apps and then forgetting to open them? This new feature might be the answer.

The Lowdown

Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a function that streamlines the app installation process. Upon download completion, the app will automatically open. No more searching for icons or wondering about download status – it’ll launch directly.

Currently, this "App Auto Open" feature is based on an APK teardown (Play Store version 41.4.19) and isn't officially confirmed. A release date remains unannounced. Importantly, this feature will be entirely optional, allowing users to enable or disable auto-launch as desired.

How it Works

Expect a brief (approximately 5-second) notification banner upon download completion. Your phone might also vibrate or ring, ensuring you won't miss it.

This information remains unofficial; we'll update you with any official announcements from Google.
